It's a warning to all spending so much money on a branded tv. Searching google it seems this is a very common problem and Samsung doesnt have a clue as to what's happening.
After about 6 months the tv just will not start. rather it goes into rebooting itself.
Just to warn everyone contemplating buying this tv or any other samsung tvs ( search google ). Very frustrating and annoying to happen in just 6 months.
You just don't have any control over the tv. It starts and you can hear the initial sound but then no display and the tv goes off in a while to start all over again.
I have extended warranty so will update on how it goes fixing this issue. Rather go with vizio or any other cheap tv so as to not waste hard earned money.
Usually it is 18 months when they go out from other reviews. The tv keeps turning itself off the second you turn it on. I am so upset because the warranty is only good for one year. I spent almost 2000.00 after shipping, etc. I researched the internet to see what the problem could be and found a lot of customers with the exact same problem. They said it cost between 400-500 dollars to fix and and it is caused by a bulging resistor and they replace the whole circuit panel. and it is too expensive to just throw away yet 500 dollars to fix is also ridiculous. I should have stuck to my old reliable Sony.
And I love America. Next well all have to purchase round tv's to view a rectangular format.
Go figure. Don't forget, when you purchase a rectangular tv most broadcasts are square.
Why make all of us purchase HD rectangular tv's when HD is broadcast in a square format. You need to purchase a larger unit than you think.
I purchased a 46 inch tv but most broadcasts come out in HD which is 38 inches. Only in America.
Generations of USA born AmericansProud to be an American but we go along with some pretty strange ideas.
Be forewarned, this TV is fine while it's working but the screen goes black (after about a year in my case) and so far I have not been able to determine if there is a remedy. It looks like a common problem so even though the price is relatively low it has turned out to be a very bad value.
These things exist, but they don't bother me. However, be wary if there are lots of windows in the room that shine on the TV. Overall, I'd say the sound is top-of-the-line for a flat panel TV, so don't let this deter you. We almost always listen with just TV speakers, so it was important to me.
I keep my AMP (Auto Motion Plus). Higher settings seem to cause erratic visuals in fast moving scenes, and I suspect will cause some display lag as it does the extra processing.Purchased from Amazon, which was no hassle at all (I was concerned about buying a big ticket item online). The picture quality is simply outstanding, and it looks great hanging on the wall.It has a built-in sub-woofer which helps the sound quite a bit (this is a step up over the 650 model). The halo is easily solved if it irritates you (just search around, there are a couple ways to do it), and the peeling is so tiny, I can't believe how much people were commenting on it. If you're sensitive to this, it could bother you.
Maybe I'm not that sensitive, but I've never noticed any lag at all, actually. Listening at normal volume, the sound is better than the large CRT we were using before. Some people complain about a 'halo' around the edge of the screen, and some cosmetic peeling of the 'Touch of Color' (inside the glass of the bezel). You can't even see it unless you're right next to the TV and looking for it. We had zero dead pixels, so no returns were necessary. Finally, note that there is a newer model of this TV (the B750) which is apparently also excellent (I did some quick research).
I am still extremely impressed with this television one year into ownership. (I still think it's worth it, personally).I also use the TV for gaming (Playstation 3). I don't bother putting the TV into 'game mode' (which it has), and have zero problems with lag. setting on 'Low'. I don't regret it in the least. Although I have no first hand experience with it, it's possible the B750 has a bit more lag than the A750 (if you're looking to use it for any kind of gaming). However, at low volumes, the sound is a bit 'tinny', which is par for the course with thin TVs.
Honestly, I sincerely doubt that's an issue and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.I'm thrilled with my purchase after a year, and would buy again in a heartbeat if the need arose. Maybe we just have a mild case of it.The glossy screen concerned me before I purchased - it almost kept me from pulling the trigger. Now, when I'm looking at TVs for other rooms in the house, I find I WANT a glossy screen because of how attractive it is and how deep the blacks are (note - I don't care for them on laptops because of glare). I won't hesitate to buy a TV from them again. We have had zero problems with the TV in that time, which speaks for its reliability.
